my .doc files won't open anymore

I am using word office 2003 for some reason I am not able to get into all of
my files since Feb 28 of this year. what has happened? keeps saying a fatal
errors has occured and asks if I want to send the error report? I have
uninstalled and reinstalled and this has not helped anyone else here have
this problem I have a bundle of important .doc's I can not access anymore!!!

Thank you for the reply ... BUT
I have already done everyone of those steps prior to posting that is why I
decided to unistall and reinstall the program which did not help either.
error reports do not help anything in my opinion

The computer was just born this past January and there is little that is
likely to have happened in the meanwhile since I hardly ever use it . I run
virus protection (updated) and spyware removal and seldom have time to mess
with the thing to begin with...
Work too much...
the only thing that puzzles me that I question is when I got it I had a
slight glitch in the beginning which prompted me to get the product key and
re-enter it since it was stating that the program was not available since it
was not registered. that was like 2 months ago and 3 weeks after I birthed
it. I have never had this happen to me before i was thinking of just
reverting back to my word 2000 but unfortunately I can no longer find the
product key for that since i have moved like 3 times since buying it!

does any one have a generic key for the 2000 edition???

This is frustrating me no end and I cant see paying for tech support when
the product cost so much to begin with!

I'd rather use one that has been de-bugged already !!
