My documents will not open in Word

Had a problem with Word shutting down. Was getting worse. Tried to fix it.
Error message SZ AppName: WINWORD.EXE SZAppVer. 10.0.6764.0 SZ ModName:
hungapp SZ: mdVer: 0000; offset: 00000000 Got connected to Office Updates and
downloaded as recommended:
Update for Word 2002 (KB887978)
Security Update for Word 2002 (KB895589)
Security Update for Outlook 2002 (KB892841) (English version)
Security Update for Word 2002 (KB905754)
Security Update for Outlook 2002 (KB905649) (English version)
which were all about fixing malicious code. Now I still get the error
message but Word will not open My Documents at all! I can still open them
with Windows Explorer. Maybe I should uninstall Office and reinstall.
