My downloaded copy of Office 2007 nags me for a product key. Why?

I recently downloaded a 60-day free trial version of Office 2007,
Professional Edition. It took forever (like 5 hours!) to download. It seems
to work fine, but it ALWAYS asks me to enter the 25-character Microsoft
product key. It refuses to accept the key which the download site provided
me. How can I get this nagging to stop? Or alternatively, how can I get a
product key which 'the program' WILL accept?
