my emails just disappeared from my SENT ITEMS folder

how do i get my sent items back? this also happened to another user on our network.

Are you sure you're looking in the Sent items folder under your Exchange
account and not under "On My Computer"?

If you log in to your account via Outlook Web Access (OWA), do you see
your messages there? If not, then you may need to contact your
administrators to recover your messages.

Where are you having problem? Sent item in the webmail or sent item in
your Office 2008?

all of my emails were on the OWA. so i reinstalled MS office on my mac and all is good. i was trying to avoid doing that but it was my only option.
