My envelopes print as meaningless symbols.

Just installed MS Office 2007 and envelopes print as meaningless symbols. I
have reinstalled print drivers, run Office diagnostics. Word documents print
correctly but not envelopes or labels.

I seem to recall this was a serious bug with Lexmark printer drivers (IIRC),
but it is definitely the printer driver at fault. So check to see if there
is an updated driver or workaround on the manufacturer's support site.

I am having this same issue although I have more specifics than the original
poster. We have this problem with Word 2007 when importing address lists from
Excel 2007 (lists created with Excel 2003 work just fine). The symbols only
print from XP machines not Vista and the print preview shows correctly, it's
just the print job that comes out wrong. We have recreated this using HP and
Canon printers so I doubt that it is a printer driver issue. It seems to be
the way that Excel and Word interact when importing the address list.
Thanks for any help anyone can give,
Tim

Jeff,
This is an issue with the Heading style font that Word chooses for envelopes
by default. Change the font to Arial or Courier and the envelopes will print
fine.
