My ISP does not support beyond FrontPage 2002

Hi guys, i've been using FP for years, and currently have 2003. Recently, i
was told by my ISP that hosts my websites, that I should use FP2000 or FP2002
to upload my files, becuase any version after 02 changes the structure of the
web, and will likely cause problems. Which it does, few of my forms work on
it.

Is there an easy solution here? I wish I had kept my old FP2000 and 2002 CDs
when i upgraded...

Thanx, Mark

Hi Steve, thanx for the reply, but sadly, FP03 does cause problems with the
structure of the web. I know this because some of my forms do not work, and
the ISp explains that it is because any version of FP after 2002 alters the
structure of the web (not that I know what that means), and so certain probs
can occur.

I am now looking around for either the 2000 or 2002 software, or moving onto
another software package... :-(

Ta, Mark

I'm not sure what your ISP means by this. I've never heard of this as any
feature that relies on the FP Server Extensions is meant to be backwards
compatible. In fact, FP 2003 was still designed for the FP 2002 Server
Extensions. Your host may just be saying this because there wasn't any new
release of the FP Server Extensions after the 2002 extensions. So what they
support the extensions up to FP 2002, because that's the latest used by FP
or any other program that makes use of the FP Server Extensions. I think
your host has another issue here as FP 2003 definitely does not alter the
structure in any way that would break it from publishing because it makes
use of the same Server Extensions that FP 2002 did.

Your host may be confusing SharePoint Services with FrontPage
Extensions.
SharePoint is supported by FrontPage 2003, but *you* have to choose to
use it.

Any FrontPage extensions web site will work perfectly with FrontPage
2003, and, as others have said, nothing will be changed or restructured
by using FrontPage 2003.

Give a link to a broken form - we may be able to spot the problem.

What they probably REALLY mean, is they don't have FP2003 and they can't
walk you through stuff. i.e. it's "unsupported".

There is no appreciable difference between FP2002 and FP2003 aside from some
mundane details of the editing GUI and some advanced navigation structure
tools.

What problem are you having with your forms? That's the real issue.
