My legal envelopes print very lightly, even changing the colors.

My legal envelopes print as if a watermark - very light. Color correction
doesn't seem to work. Also, my 6.5" envelopes will not print in the proper
format, but the color is dark. Labels, text, spreadsheets, web files, all
print well. I have a Dell 1720 printer. Suggestions please.

For some reason, some printer drivers use composite colours for printing
envelopes and if all the available colours are not available you get some
very odd effects. If you cannot fix it by any other means avoid the use of
the envelope tool and create a document template for printing envelopes. If
necessary use a full sized page and set the printable area with margins to
fool the driver into believing it is printing a simple document rather than
an envelope. You can use the envelope templates that you can download from
my web site to provide the automation necessary to insert addresses from
Outlook or as a start point for creating the template.
