My mac seems to be logging me off when im using Microsoft

After using entourage, powerpoint, word, or excel my mac will just log me
out of my computer and then log me back in..this is very frustrating, i end
up losing a lot of work!

please help.

im using mac version 10.6.1 and office 2004

This is not normal behavior. Are you a new Mac user?

I suggest that you check out your login items for the culprit. Under the
Apple in the Menu bar, select Log out. When you log in, hold down the Shift
key. This disables all startup items. Now test the Microsoft applications
and see if you get logged out with them disabled. Let me know what you find.

I think some people have also reported that with other applications.
Office 2004 uses PPC code and therefore use Rosetta to run on you Mac.
Apparently the system has issues with it and it makes the WindowServer
process crash (and logs you out).

It looks like at this point we have no other choice but waiting for
Apple to solve this issue.
I heard that avoiding to run multiple PPC applications at the same time
might help,
