I'm using Word 2000 on Windows 2000 Pro. I created a macro that I
assigned to a keystroke manually (in tools, customize, keyboard...).
Nothing happens when I hit the shortcut key. I can go back to
customize-keyboard, and I see that the shortcut key IS assigned to my
macro. I removed the assignment and did it again. Same difference. I
even added the assignment in the AutoOpen() by adding to the key
bindings. Nothing. I can run the macro from the tools menu no problem.
I also created a toolbar button to invoke it, that works great.
I have tried keeping the macro and its assignment in normal.dot, and
I've also tried keeping it in a document file. Same difference.
I have no other programs installed that could intercept the keystroke.
I've pretty much given up on that and my users will have to use the
button, which sucks. I've seen a lot of cases where shortcut keys
don't work, so I have a lot of company. Is there a recognized flaw in
Word related to that?
