My master project (linked) keeps reverting to random dates...help

I have created a master project with links to multiple projects. Everytime I
open the master project, the dates are not correct. It corrects itself only
if I uncollapse and collapse each project again manually.
I also want to save an unlinked version of this master project on a weekly
basis to track changes. When I remove the link to the individual projects,
the dates revert to the wrong dates again.
It only does this for some individual projects but not all (about 10 of 20).
I have not been able to work out what differences these projects have
compared to the others.

You may have a file corruption. If you or anyone else has ever moved,
renamed or over-written any of the files it's roll the dice time.

I recommend you unattach all sub-projects then delete the master.

When recreating the master select Insert, Project and Deselect the Link
option before clicking OK for each insertion. This inserts a copy of all
project data and consolidates all resource information and creates a weekly
snapshot (if done weekly.

To speed the process up record a macro of you doing this manually. Make sure
the first recorded instruction is File new to create a new master!

I avoid all links as I know how dodgy they can get.

Hi Rod:

I am using 2003 version and have had same problem with Pei. BTW, when I
insert a project file to a maser IMS. I deselected "the Link" option as you
suggested. I have seen the same problem as described below.

After insertion, the title in Summary tab (when you choose the Properties of
that file in Project) became a higher level (i.e., Level 2) and content of
inserted file started at Level 3.

How can I insert a project without importing the Title as a level?

Hi Rod. Thanks for your reply. It didn't work for me. I tried creating a new
master and attached unlinked projects. The projects do not show the correct
date.
