my MS word hangs when it virus scans

my word doc. hang when they are virus scanned and i have to contril alt
delete to get out after many attempts it works

If you have Norton AntiVirus, disable its Office Plug-in, which adds no
protection to what you already have if you have Auto-Protect enabled.
