my ntlworld emails won't send from outlook. Any advise?

I have just updated from windows mail to outlook 2007, operating on VISTA. My
ntlworld email settings have been imported from windows mail.

When sending emails, my mails are simply stuck in the outbox, no error
messages appear. I am able to send pop3 emails from another user on the PC.
