My outlook 2007 is disconnected when using a cisco vpn

I have an intermittent problem whereby My Outlook 2007 will no sync when I am
working out of the office and connecting to exchange via a cisco vpn. Other
applications work through the vpn like my cisco softphone. When Outlook cant
connect nor can I connect to Microsoft CRM either, I also have a CRM
connector in Outlook which disables itself when Outlook can't connect.
However last night everything worked and this morning nothing Microsoft did.
I have have tried rebooting the laptop and router, I've run windows
diagnostic which hasn't helped. There are no files in the Sync issues
folders either.

Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks

You might try changing the authentication type in Outlook 2007 to NTLM. The
reason why is that your VPN solution might be dropping the Kerberos
authentication packets. Here would be the steps when Outlook is running.

1) Right click on the folder named "Mailbox - [username]"
2) Select properties
3) Select advanced button
4) Security tab
5) Change Logon network security dropdown to Password Authentication

setca

make folders available offline and work offline..
http://www.amset.info/outlook/offline-folders.asp
or 'Exchange Cache mode'
