MY OUTLOOK FILES DISAPPEARED!

Well, I just recently updated my PC to Windows 7 and have been running MS
Outlook on my portable hard drive w/o problems so I can access my personal
folders at the office or at home. it has been perfectly working fine and last
night all was fine and when I checked this morning the file folder that I had
my Outlook and pst files was empty. When I do a search on Windows Explorer, I
see my messages are still somewhere on my PC but can't locate where the file
went and I can't see them when I open outlook. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks!

Depends what you mean by running outlook on portable drive.
I assume you mean the data file was located on the portable, that been the
case the data file will still be there, so in Outlook, File>Open>Data File
......browse to your portable amd open the data file (possibly named
outlook.pst)

Yes, I've did that before I've posted this here. But when I go to the Data
File Management and Browse to choose the Data File that I need in the folder
that it was , file is no longer there but it looks like the file names etc
turned into japanese :( there are things with weird characters. I am certain
that they are still on my PC becasue when I did the search on Windows
explorer, all the messages pop up but when I click open, outlook doesn't open
them. And I right click on these messages to see if I can open the file
location, I have no such option. Do you have any idea how I can figure out
what is the file location?
Thanks
