my pictures disappear when I scroll off the page in Word XP

I've just converted to Word XP. I insert a picture and it looks fine. I
scroll up or down off the page and the picture disappears. Shows in print
preview, I'm in print mode view (not normal or web view) and
inTools/Options/View picture placeholders off, drawings on.

Anyone have an idea of why I can't see my pictures?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control Panel
| Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting.

I can now see the pictures in word document with my acceleration in FULL
setting!

I have Radeon 9600 card, WinXP/Home/SP2 and after ATI tried to troubleshoot
since Dec with no success (suggested to load Framework 1.1; CATALYST 4.12
driver released on Dec 13; manually download CATALYST 0.2.1. Finally they
told me to check with Microsoft and I did, received no reply).

I just fixed the problem (hope it is permanent), went to ATI website to use
the CAT uninstaller to completely uninstall all the previous drivers and
download their latest driver issued in January, now I can turn setting back
to full to see the pictures and enable all Direct X features.
