my product key is said to be incorrect, what's wrong with it...?

When I type my product key in, it says that it is incorrect, however, I am
sure that it is not. I have tried putting it in many times, with and without
capslock, and looking at the product key under my computer each time. How can
I get it to work. By the way, I have a Windows Vista Home premium laptop, and
the 07 word program was already loaded on it.

It sounds like your laptop came with a trial installation of Office 2007
which has now expired. The serial number of your computer is *not* going to
activate Word/Office. If you want to continue using the software you'll need
to pay the price to obtain the required product key from Microsoft. If you
were under the impression that the price of your computer was supposed to
include the license for Office you'll need to hash it out with the vendor.
