My "Stop" toolbar comes and goes at will also.........dunno
why...........but you can get out of the recording mode by doing Tools >
Macro > Stop Recording...........and please don't use all CAP's........I
find them hard to read.......thanks,

When you select Record New Macro does the Stop Recording Bar appear? Is the
Relative Reference button missing? If so, go to Tools>Customize and select
the Stop Recording check box and "Reset".

If the Stop Recording Bar does not appear at all, Tools>Customize select the
check box at Stop Recording. Close Customize dialog. You can now Close the
Stop recording bar. Next time you select Tools>Macros>Record Macro - Stop
Recording bar should pop up again. DO NOT CLOSE IT AGAIN USING THE X OR
YOU
WILL HAVE TO RE-ARM AGAIN. When you want to Stop Recording, just hit the
button with the blue dot.

I've seen Excel that when you want to record a macro, you can click on "Use
Relative Reference". The PC that I was just assigned runs Excel 97, but the
choice is not there. Is there a switch I can turn on?
