My selection is locked

I am unable to open a new document, type anything, etc. Everytime I try, I
get a message the my selection is locked and must be changed. How do I do
that?

Either you have a trial version that came with a new computer and its trial
period has now expired or you have failed to activate your product and it
has exceeded its usage quota.

Hi, so what would you recommend to us? I think I have the same problem. Who
should we contact? I´m writing a very important document and now I can´t go
on. So if you know how to get rid of this problem ASAP, would you please give
us some advice?

Have you established if you have a trial version or if it only needs
activation? If it only needs activation, then go To Word Options, Resources
tab and click on Activation.

If it is a trial version, then you need to purchase a version of Office and
use the product key to unlock the trial version and then you can activate it
the same way.

I have a trial version of Word 2007 on this new laptop. I have activated it.
Everything is still locked. The trial doesn't expire until January 31, 2008.
Please explain what is going on and what needs to be corrected, because at
this point this laptop, with Office 2007 and Windows Vista, is driving me
absolutely insane with its general uselessness.

How did you establish that the trial version is valid until Jan 2008?
