my send and receive has disappeared.

my send and receive button has disappeared and Outlook 2003 does not send and
receive automatically anymore. The tools command option doesn't contain a
send and receive choice either. what happened?

Sounds like you don't have an account configured. Verify your settings in
Control Panel-> Mail
