Seeing that you don't have any capital letters in your post, I'll
guess that this is not just a problem in Word but in all programs.
That makes me think that your keyboard is broken. Try borrowing one
from another computer. If that works, buy a new keyboard -- they're
very inexpensive.
thanks jay for your feedback. i'm using a dell laptop and feel that the two
shift keys are ok but wondering if i have deactivated the keys somehow. for
example by pushing 'control / shift'. your thoughts...
I have a Dell laptop, too... but I never heard of any function that
would deactivate the shift keys. Still, this is not a problem about
Word, so this isn't really the right place to look for answers. Have
you tried either Dell support or the forums on the Dell site? Start
