My signature has strange characters in it???

I have several signatures that I use in Outlook 2000 (XP machine).... However
a few of the new ones I created, look okay when creating them, but when I
insert them, these strange characters appear atop the signature everytime
( )... Anyone know why this happens..
Please help...
