My spreadsheet is formatted to British pounds, need US dollars

Working on a spreadsheet. My download is in British pounds. Need US
dollars. How do I make the switch?

As far as the displayed symbols the Cell can be configured for Currency
$US. BUT, what about the value? If you are really working in British
pounds, changing the symbol to US $ would not be a good idea.
