My subform is unbound HELP

I have a subform within a tabbed form. I'm trying to
follow Microsoft's HELP on how to set this up.
It says to specify LinkChieldFields and LinkMasterfields
properties.
However, when I try to do this it says I cannot because my
control is unbound.
What do I do now?

I have a record source in my subforms which is a SELECT
statement, I did not add this so Access must have.

I'm using Access 2k.
