My subject line is missing first letter when read by receiver.

When I send an email with Outlook, the subject line is missing the first
letter when read by the receiver. Example...Subject: Test....is read
Subject: est.

Any clue? I need one.

Thanks,
J

Have you verified this, absolutely, yourself - by sending a test message to
a Yahoo/Gmail/Hotmail account to see?

Beyond that, it's hard to say with the info you've provided (or not
provided). When you post in here, always include your version, SP level, and
mode (if applicable) of Outlook - you can find this information in Help |
About. Also include the type of mail account(s) you use and any other
pertinent details. Be sure to put a consise summary of your question in the
subject line, and the full details in the body of your post.

I did verify by sending myself an email. The email came through without the
first letter in the subject. "est", instead of "test". I'm using comcast
email address.

I'm using MS Office Outlook 2003 Version 5.1.2600 service pack 2 build 2600.

Are you scanning outgoing mail with an AV?

Yes, but we don't know if it worked or not, as the OP didn't post back.

Instead of using Google Groups, try using a news client, such as Forte
Agent, Thunderbird, or even Outlook Express. It's a lot easier to do nearly
everything that way. You can mark messages to be watched, filter the views
so you can see replies to your posts easily, and search.

The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required.

Google Groups is great for searching old newsgroup posts, but not the best
way to access usenet.
