My System locks up when trying to save DB as an .mde

All,

I have an MS Access 2002-2003 file that is about 5 mb. When I try to save
the file as an .mde, my computer locks up on me. In the lower left corner of
my ms access screen, it says Make MDE/ADE but then nothing happens. I've
compiled my code and it does compile. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply Jerry. It's only MS Access that locks up. When I do
Alt+Cntl+Del and view Task Manager, it says the MS Access is not responding.
I've let it sit there for an hour and it always says 'Not Responding'. I'll
try it again and see if there are any hidden pop-ups but I'm thinking there
won't be any.

Jerry,
I did confirm that there are no other windows in the background. MS Access
does create a db1.mdb file in the same folder where I wanted my .mde file.
Don't know if this means anything to anyone.

One more thing I noticed. As soon as I try to create the mde file, my CPU
Usage goes to 100% (I view it from task manager). Again, not sure if this
helps in understanding the problem.
