My tab key now jumps over several columns. why?

All of a sudden when I am working in Excel, I try to tab to the next cell,
and it jumps several columns over. What has happened, and how do I fix it?

The fix may be easy:
Pull-down:
Tools > Options > Transition and clear the Transitions navagation keys
checkbox.
