My Tasks disappearing

I have a few users who are reporting the same problem with Project
Server. They are reporting their time religiously via the My Tasks
screen and the following has happened at different times:

1. The time is not posted against the project(s) after task updates
have been approved (I believe this may be related to folks not
checking in their projects after editing, which gets in the way of
updates being applied).
2. When the user returns to My Tasks to resubmit the time, the
previous data entry in My Tasks is gone. I would not expect this to
ever happen and this is the most mysterious of the situation.

I’m not sure if the problem can be reconstructed, but the user who
brought this to my attention is very credible. It sounds as if there
might be a bug of some sort.

We just applied the December CU to both the server and the clients and
this apparently has happened since.

Any ideas?

I have seen this happen with our users and I think it is a result of the
project manager accessing the server from two different domains while
accepting updates or switching domains after accepting updates and prior to
publishing and closing the schedule. The server sees the PM as two different
users and while one cache file receives the updates it is the other that is
published back to the server effectively resetting the team members My Tasks
page as if no update was submitted. And, repeated attempts to publish more
updates continue to fail in the same manner. To resolve the issue we delete
all of the folders in the cache folder itself. You can find the cache folder
location under Tools>Local Project Cache>Cache Settings.
