My Tasks/Email Notification Not Same Date

I have a user that received an EPM email notification that it lists a task
with a start date of 9/21, which would explain why it’s not showing up on the
My Tasks page but...the project plan has the correct start date of 8/14.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?
