"My Tasks" not showing up

If a project manager assigns themselves a task, it doesn't
show up in Project Web Access when they click on the "My
Tasks" link. Does the "My Tasks" only show tasks that have
been assigned by someone other than themselves?

How did the project assign him/herself tot the task:

Through the View My Tasks page in PWA?
In the project plan in Microsoft Project Professional?

If he/she made the assignment in Microsoft Project, then he/she still needs
to publish the assignment using either Collaborate - Publish - New and
Changed Assigments, or Collaborate - Publish - All Information. If he/she
made the assignment in PWA, he/she must still approve the assignment on the
Updates page of PWA, must update the change into the project plan, and then
must publish the assignment using either method detailed previously in this
message. Hope this helps.

He assigned the task through Project Pro, and did do a
publish after wards. As a test he took himself out of the
project, did a publish, didn't get any notification, and
got out of Project all together. Then he went back in,
added a new task, assigned it to himself and another
resource, and did a publish. The other resource got an
email notification, and as well could see the task under
the "My tasks" link, whereas the Project manager still
doesn't anything. Any ideas why?

Thanks
