My Tasks View Options Reset after user sets them - how to stop thatbehavior?

What people here continue to have a problem with is that in My Tasks,
“Show Only Current Tasks” and “Expand All” view options continue to
“reset” themselves to unchecked although you go to the trouble of
checking an applying. You come back to My Tasks, and they are
unchecked again. Sometimes it's one or the other; sometimes both, and
I can't say for sure if the other two options change as well.

Please advise.

I think this might be related to your users having to high level of
permissions enabled on PWA>Site Actions>Site Settings>Advanced
Permissions>Settings>Permission Levels

This will allow them to edit task webpart in shared mode which means it
affects all users version of the same webpart. they should only have
permissions to "Update Personal Web Parts - Update Web Parts to display
personalized information"
