My Tasks vs. Tasks views (PS 2007)

Robert

Hello,

What is the logical diffference between the two views: "My Tasks" and
"Tasks" (from the My Work menu in Quick Launch)?
Thanks for your help.

I don't have MOPS in front of me right now, but you'll see Tasks allows you
to toggle between the Task Sheet, Gantt Chart, and Calendar views (in the
top right of the screen). In fact, that's the only way to navigate to the
calendar view from PWA.

My Tasks doesn't have those options.

Misread the question. Pls belay that last answer....as I was referring to My
Work.

I need to pull up a version of MOPS, but where do you see "Tasks?" I can't
think offhand where it would appear in an out of the box installation.

Robert --

If you click the My Tasks link in the Quick Launch menu on the left side of
the pane, the system displays the My Tasks page. If you click the My Work
section heading in the Quick Launch menu, the system displays the Task
Center page (although the words "Task Center" never appear anywhere). The
Task Center includes three different pages, each accessible by clicking a
tab in the upper right corner of the page. The default page shown in the
Task Center is the Tasks page, which is the default version of the My Tasks
page, unedited by the Project Server administrator (unless he/she elects to
modify this page, of course). The second page is the My Timesheet page for
the current time period, if already created by the user. The third page is
the Calendar page which shows a Calendar view of the tasks assigned to the
person viewing the Task Center. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Dale,

So, the tasks displayed in the "Tasks" page are the same that are displayed
in the "My Tasks" page : tasks of resources (assignments) you are the
Assignment Owner ?

The tasks shown on the My Tasks page are the same shown on the Tasks page in
the Task Center. The only potential diference in the tasks shown on each
page would be when the user selects the "Show Only Current Task" option on
one of the pages, and deselects the option on the other page. In this case,
the user might see many tasks on one page and only a few tasks on the other
page. But, yes, the tasks are the task assignments for the resource for
which the resource is the Assignment Owner. Hope this helps.
