My Tasks web part - error

T

TroyS

I'm logging into PWA on a remote desktop (same one every time).

When i select My Tasks, i get the following error where i can select the 'go
back to site' hyperlink..
I'm in the PWA Administrators group, but i seem (so far) to be the only
person seeing this. Others, in their own desktop browsers (IE) have not
encountered, though i have not polled every single person/user.
I was logging into test and production instances at the same time and same
login when i encountered this.

I've tried setting My Tasks back to Restore and it does not show that this
is a personalized view.
I'm doing this in a window from Troubleshoot WSS where i can delete, copy,
restore the web part.

Is this an Internet cache clearing issue OR something more serious. As we've
rolled out My Tasks just this week, i'm hoping this is not widespread and is
going to prevent people from submitting task updates.

Dale,

This environment already has the infrastructure update applied which should
include the April 2008 hotfix..correct?
I ran your SQL and nothing returned. So i don't believe it is this.

Would you think a remove the web part and add it back in might be the trick?
So far, i appear to be the only person with this issue though there is
nothing that i've done to that particular web part

Yes, you could certainly try removing the Web part and adding it back in
again. Since you are the only one who has this problem, you might first try
clearning your browser cache to see if that helps. If these steps don't
help, then I would suggest you post this problem as a new question so that
the technical folks can take a stab at helping you resolve it. Hope this
helps.

Are you certain that you didn't personalize the web part by changing any of
the settings? If you select the short date format and have tasks that span
from year to the next, this problem can surface and I don't think it has
been resolved.

I did change the web part to show Hours rather than Days in the web part and
that was working just fine.
A few days later (I was setting up training examples in a test environment),
it was not working. What i don't know is if someone else went into their PWA
and did something to the My Tasks web page....though i doubt it as we had
not rolled PS07 out to everyone yet.

I thought that would make changes for everyone rather than just a personal
view...is this correct? Or does everyone have to modify their My Tasks to
show Hours rather than Days?

My project does not span years.
I keep selecting the "reset" option in the web part but nothing happens...

I've tried clearing my browser (IE) as well but that action did not resolve.

If i delete the web part will i be deleting it for everyone? or just my PWA?
If i delete it, i can add it back just as easy from the web part gallery,
correct?

Just trying to see what i might be doing to everyone vs. just my PWA before
i start deleting stuff.
Is there a way to reinstall the PWA web components to try fixing the issue?

Troy:

If you are the administrator, then changes you make to the web part will
affect everyone. When I state tasks that span from one year to the next, it
could be a task that starts on December 31 and ends on January 1, I'm not
talking about a task that is necessarily 366 e-days long.
