My Timesheet Custom Task Field Missing Value When Line Added

We recently added an Enterprise Custom Field, Charge Code, for tracking
information at the task level. PMs populate the Charge Code before
publishing the project to the server.

Our Timesheet component is configured to autopopulate using current Tasks
during the "Create Timesheet" process. When I create a new Timesheet, the
Charge Code field is populated correctly for currently assigned tasks.
However, if I use the "Add Lines" feature to add a separate Task to my
Timesheet, the Charge Code field is empty.

Am I seeing the behavior of a bug, lack of process flow to support what I
want, or something else? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

It seems to me to be a bug. When you are adding a line, it is because there
was no scheduled work for you that week, correct? Maybe your process would
be to update My Tasks first and then when you create your timesheet, the
activities which you worked on that week will all show up during the
timesheet creation and you will not need to add lines. I'm not sure if that
will work for you if you have timesheet lock down or are using the timesheet
synch feature.
