'My Web' files won't open into FrontPage

Mysteriously my FrontPage program opens fine, but when I go to 'File' and
'Open' and try to work on a saved page from 'My Webs' nothing happens, the
program just freezes and I have to reboot the computer. I can't edit anything
at all.

I ran Registry Mechanic, which fixes any errors (allegedly), the other day
for the first time; could this be the cause? I really could do with
reinstalling the whole program, but I don't know where to get it from - for
free at least.

I need to work on my site desperately but can't, so I would apreciate it
greatly if someone could help out.

1. With FrontPage open, click Help and then detect and Repair.

If, still no luck go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm
and download FP Cleaner.

Run all of the functions except "Change the Open last web setting"

FANTASTIC!!Thanks very much indeed. I can now start work again! The program
moved three files, inc two cache files to the recycle bin and hey presto,
working again. Can't thank you enough.

I am not sure how to classify this problem. When I try to make changes, edit
I get a "four pronged symbol" with arrows on the end of each prong. How can I
get rid of this and back to the normal edit functions to change text, insert
files etc?

Nope, anyplace I put the cursor, it gives me the odd looking 4 pointed
symbol. I can't do any functions in frontpage any more.

Can you just open FP and use File New page to create a new page and edit it
- if not try running a Help Detect & Repair from FP

Are you trying to edit a page that has a DWT (Dynamic Web Template) attached
to it?
