My word documents has all letters on top of each other on one straight
column, why is it doing that?

it looks like this but the letters are on top of each other.

Try deleting and reinstalling your printer in Start | Control Panel |
Printers. Might be a good time to check the printer manufacturer's
website for an updated driver for your printer while you're at it.

Change to a different printer and then back again.

File/Print/Select a different printer/Close
File/Print/Select the original printer/Close
