Mysterious Black Brackets Appear

Several paragraphs in a document now display with [bold black brackets
around them], just as shown here.

I can¹t select them, can¹t find any mention of them in help, have checked
everything to see if they are inadvertently created fields...

What is up with this? I can replace the paragraphs of course, but I don¹t
like things happening to business documents that I don¹t understand.

By the way, how come there is no link to be found from the MS web site to
the mvp website you guys often refer us to? Did I miss something?

Sorry. Just found it. And came back to the post to try to head off
responses. You are quick.

I did search for brackets. Found nothing, nada, bupkis. Then of course I ran
across a long long discussion. Still reading it.
