I wonder if anyone out there can help me. I have an SQL
database with an Access 97 front end that is used as a
call logging tool for an IT Helpdesk. The call logger has
been in use for roughly six months without any problems,
but this morning the following happened: For no apparent
reason all the data held in a field
called "Details_Of_Call" (SQL Char 4000 - converts to a
memo field in Access) disappeared. The field is still
there but the content has disappeared for every call in
the database, which is roughly 3500 calls. The database
is hidden from the users, so no-one had access to play
with the base tables - there were no delete queries set up
on this field and there was also plenty of space available
on the server which houses the SQL database. Can anyone
give me any guidance as to why this has happened and what
I can do to prevent it happening again?
