I have produced a number of lengthy reports which use automatic numbers. When I insert some graphs the text restarts on the next page with the numbering continuing. I have tried everything that I can think of, but can't get trid of the gaps. Can anyone suggest a solution.

I am using Word 2003 and the text has 3 levels of numbering

Have you tried modifying the text wrap options for the graph? On the
Format menu, click Object. In the dialog box, click the Layout tab and
make your choices.

I'm not sure if I understand your problem, but if text is moving to the
start of a new page and leaving gaps, check the paragraph settings. Since
you say the text is numbered, perhaps you have made use of the built-in
Heading styles which by default use 'Keep with next' settings? If so you can
simply remove the setting from the text level style.

You are a superstar - that has cracked it. I would never have found it in a month of sundays - thanks a lot! My report now looks alot better without all of those gaps.

I can now get on and enjoy my weekend!
