If I had to guess, I'd say that the installer is corrupt, but first what
happens if you start Word in safe mode? From Start, Run type in
winword /a
and press enter. Does Word open and close correctly now?
:I ran detect and repair on Excel and it fixed the speech recognition
problem.
: However running the detect/repair on Word did not solve the windows
: installer problem. After it finished resetting registry keys, the
installer
: immediately started up again. It is the more annoying problem because it
: takes so long to cancel out, and sometimes I have to use task manager to
end
: it.
:
: I also ran my A/V program - no viruses found, and scanned my computer for
: spyware.
