Mystery large file size

I recently created a workbook with lots of tabs, data etc. I noticed that
the size of the file seemed huge in comparison to a file with similar
content (30Mb / 1Mb), but couldn't see why.

I found that if I copied a single from the file tab to a new workbook,
deleted all the data and saved it, it was reduced from 2.8Mb to 2.6Mb
!!

Any ideas on why this is ?? How to reduce it ??

Maybe there are hidden objects on the sheets, especially if you've
copied data from web sites.

To select all the objects on the sheet --
Choose Edit>Go To, click Special
Select Objects, click OK

Then, press the Delete key, to delete the selected objects.

Or, to work with specific objects, you can add the 'Select Multiple
Objects' tool to one of your toolbars:

Choose Tools>Customize
Select the Commands tab
Select the Drawing Category
Drag the 'Select Multiple Objects' tool onto one of your toolbars
Click Close

Then, click the Select Multiple Objects button, and select any or all
objects on the worksheet.
Press the Delete key, to delete the selected objects.

Thanks Debra, that's worked perfectly.:)

I had copied the info from a web source, I thought it might be somthin
to do with that, but the objects in question were sort of invisible
