name autocorrect

I'm using Acess 2000.

Name AutoCorrect option really slows down my apps on a network.

Why would I want to have this option checked? For now, I've been unchecking
it on all my installations.

Thanks.

It is mainly use when you are designing / modifying the
database, especially if you keep changing the Access
Object names.

For normal usage of the database, turn it off.

Good question. Why indeed would you want something that is a performance
disaster, and has more than a dozen known bugs? Some of those are listed in:
Failures caused by Name Auto-Correct

Your decision to uncheck the option for all your installations makes perfect
sense, but it is not something you can just do one. You have to uncheck it
every time you create a new database.
