name changed married

We are running project server 2003 sp2a in 2003 sharepoint portal farm. We
are using ad sync for our security groups and erp.

One of the users got married and we changed the name on her ad account.
When the ad sync took place this user now has two accounts in project server.
I need to figure out how to migrate all of her tasks, projects ect to the
new account and also make sure that she can log in with the new account.

We use only windows authentication. Does anyone have any idea how to fix
this little snafu? I appreciate any suggestions or directions you may have.

I have more to add. Since the AD account was only modified for this user I
figured that maybe I needed to set her previous named account to inactive in
project server. I am not allowed to do this or clear the AD GUID. It fails
with the error: The user could not be created. Check the spelling of the
user name, verify that a valid domain name was included, and check that a
duplicate domain was not used.

I am assuming that I messed up the proper procedure for getting this done.
Anyone know what I need to do now to fix this?

Hi

Have you tried he "Merge account" function?

You can find this at Admin - Manage user & Groups in PWA.

This should be the solution for this kind of problem.

If you change the user name and not the logon, then the user name will
change when AD Synch runs
If you change the user name and logon, a new account gets created - use the
merge account function
Unfortunately, the system does not change the user name in the Project
workspaces. You need to do this manually or create your own synch program.
