name connection points

Is there any way to name connection points? For example what I would like to
do is...

Network Map - I would like to be able to insert 2 Catalyst 2950 switches and
then run a connector between FE0/1 and FE0/24 and then have the connector be
able to name itself.

I know there are some higher end products that do this, but is it possible
to do without having to purchase a separate product?

thanks,

the first issue is to have a shape with the appropriate conneciton points on
it, then renaming is not an issue. Without the correctly configured shape it
get's kinda ugly. I haven't checked the cisco stencils but you could start
there and then modify them. They are at
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/prod_visio_icon_list.html. The
alternative is to purchase the stencils from someone like
http://www.netzoomstencils.com/home/home.asp and then alter them. I use the
netzoom products for mine.

I have all the Cisco stencils and I have blown then up to 1000% to add all
the connection points over the ports, how do I go about naming each of the
connection points. ie FastEthernet0/1 and such?

each of the connection points will have a line in the shapesheet for the
shape (i.e. router, switch, whatever), it's just a matter of opening the
shapesheet and renaming the connection point to what you want to call it. I
prefered the short hand that you would see in a CDP report i.e fe0/1,
gig0/2, etc.
