Naming columns so the names repeat on each page.

G

Greek_to_me

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I understand how to name the column under row #1. But I want the column names to show up on each page and they don't.

Help says go to the format palette and click on ledger sheet, but "ledger sheet" is not on the format palette. I looked everywhere, under each menu option on the format palette.

"Select any cell in the column that you want to rename.
On the View menu, click Formatting Palette.
Under Ledger Sheet, in the Name box, type a new name for the column, and then press RETURN."

I tried editing under headers but the header is divided up into 3 equal width sections and I have more columns than that.

Gag I hate it when help tells you to follow a line of menu clicks and they don't show up as described. Grrrr.... Don't the programmers try the stuff they write?

You're looking at the wrong help topic. Use "Repeat column headings on each
page of a printout".

A Ledger Sheet is a special Excel-2008-only kind of workbook. The workbook
needs to be created as a Ledger Sheet before any of the techniques
advertised for it will work.

Cheers
