naming fields

Question again:

Just want to make sure I am doing this correctly...

I started to make a table with wizard. Then I clicked on the existing
names of fields, backspaced and now call that field by a new name. Is
that ok? When I tried to rename the Birthdate field the Flower field,
it wouldn't let me type in the name of the flowers. I guess this is
because it was set up like / / . I am assuming I can change names of
the other fields that aren't date based? Help. I am a computer baby
and do not even know the difference between a query a form a report
and a table. Please be patient. I learn quickly. Thank
you.-Zena:confused

You can change names of table fields without any problem. The data that
resides in thoses fields needs to be compatible with any new data type. For
instance, you can change a date/time field to text or to a Double, but not
to any Integer without losing data.
