I have an internet provider however one day a screen came
up and wants me to log in. It pops up alot now. what is it
and how do I get rid of it. It apears to stem from
Internet explorer and Overture, Even though me carrier is

Maybe your IP wants to only let subscribers use it's news reader. Try
your e-mail address and password. That works for me with Mindspring.
Better yet add the news server news.microsoft.com to your list of
servers and use Microsoft's server. It keeps a much longer history and
is updated more quickly. I don't know a lot about servers and what an
Internet Providers do but when I read newsgroups through my IP's server
there are lots fewer posts and a longer lag from the time I post and the
time I can read it. It's that way both with my IP at home and at work.
