I have a Visio document saved inside of a web site. When i navigate to
the URL of the Visio file using Internet Explorer the browser opens up
with VISIO inside of IE. Also, prior to the file opening and VISIO (in
Internet Explorer) launching I get a "File Download" dialog window
(Open/Save/Cancel)
yet
if i browse to the web application folder in the file system, right
click on the .vsd file and select open with Internet Explorer an
instance of IE with the Visio Viewer opens as I would expect.
Can anyone explain why the same doesn't happen when navigating to the
URL?
My intent is for the Visio document to be viewed (but not edited) via
the URL.
Here is some configuration info of my machine:
IE 6 on Windows 2000 Professional
Microsoft Office 2003 installed
Visio Viewer 2003 plug-in installed
