My users need to enter data for thousands of records which contain a
hyperlink field. To enter the hyperlinks, they either click on the Insert
Hyperlink icon on the toolbar, or right-click and select Hyperlink - Edit
Hyperlink. The targets of these hyperlinks are files and folders on our
network drives. (I'm building an Access XP database they can use to
organize and locate files and folders on the network using the search
features in an Access form).
To insert these hyperlinks, they navigate to the target file or folder in
the Insert Hyperlink dialog box. However, this is time-consuming and
tedious because the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box doesn't remember the
location of the hyperlink target selected in the previous record. Every
time you reopen the dialog box to insert the next record, the setting in the
"Look in" drop box reverts to the folder where the mdb file is located, and
the user has to again navigate to whatever drive and folder where the next
target file is located.
Is there any way I can get that dialog box to remember where the last
selected target file was located, or is there any other way to do this that
doesn't require the user to renavigate through the same directory path to
create hyperlinks for multiple files in the same directory?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
