Navigation bar created in Publisher 2003 not visible in ie8

I've created a webpage using Publisher 2003. It works great in every browser
except IE8. (I've tested in on IE6, IE7, Firefox and Chrome) In IE8, the
front page loads, but sans the navigation bar. That makes for a pretty lame
webpage!

Any help is appreciated.

Just a suggestion...before you waste a lot of time asking a question, take a
moment and read few of the questions and answers before yours....like the
one immediately before yours that just happens to be the same question.

I want to affirm David's reply and ask if Microsoft can be "encouraged" to
add either a FAQ function to these newgroups or to put in place some sort of
wording like "Before you submit a question, please use the Search function to
see if it has already been answered."?

Better still, as 90% of the posts on this discussion page concern a very
evident problem with Publisher's navigation bar, why doesn't Microsoft fix
the problem and send out an automatic update of the program ??????

The Office 2007 SP2 does indeed fix the problem for Publisher 2007, but not
for Pub 2003 which doesn't get any more patches. And unfortunately the
Office 2007 SP2 is also known to break some things in Publisher for some
people which resulted in the need for a hotfix. So the question in my mind
is why hasn't the Office SP2 been fixed? I just love patches that break
things in order to fix things...

But the point is people who come to this newsgroup frequently don't bother
reading other posts to see if their question has already been answered.
Heck, if you had read my boilerplate answer about the navbar issue, you
would have already known that MSFT has issued a patch for this problem. And
if you, an interested, regular contributing member of this group did not
know this fact, then I doubt that we can ever expect new posters to read
many old posts...even if it was the question posted immediately before their
question.

I have been helping out in this newsgroup for quite a few years now, and
realize this is just the nature of these groups. Normally I will just repost
the answer to FAQs without comment, but I let myself express my frustration
this time...I mean it was literally the previous question...how in the world
did the OP miss it?!?! AArrggh! But miss it, they did and I should not have
made an issue of it. It won't really change anything and I probably just
alienated the poster such that they will be reluctant to ask a question
again in this group or any group. Next week...later today someone else will
ask the question again, and hopefully this time I will be more patient and
understanding...

I think 90% might be a bit of a stretch <g>, but it sure does fell like that
sometimes. But I appreciate your comments and Brucels
"affirmation"...thanks.

:)) :)) LOL LOL

Keep cool David. Sorry. I didn't mean to upset you, mate.

I completely agree with you and I know you are working very hard helping
people here. My comment was merely a quip at MSFT ...and yes I read old posts
and have done so for many years.

I also concur on the idea that posters should read previous posts before
asking questions but, as you said , human instinct will prevail.

Cheer up David and keep up the good work.
