Navigation bar on bottom will not work

I have a navigation bar on the side and another on the bottom. Both are
perfect. The one on the side works just fine. The links on the one on the
bottom do not work. I have recreated the bars in their simplest form,
always with the same result. The links are there but they are not
hot.....no hand symbol.

Help! I have spent days on this problem.

I forgot to mention that I am using Publisher 2007.

The bottom navbar typically does work when viewed with IE, but not with
FireFox. I assume that you are using FF or some other non IE browser. If
that is the case, the workaround is to ungroup the bottom navbar from the
side navbar and the wizard. Select the bottom navbar > Arrange > Ungroup.
Test the links before you save the changes to confirm that they now work.
Note that when you ungroup the bottom navbar, that navbar will not be
automatically updated if you add another page as it is ungrouped from the
navbar wizard. You will have to do it manually. So, wait until you have
added all the pages you expect to need for your web before you ungroup the
bottom navbar.

Ungrouping text boxes with hyperlinks within from other design elements will
also work when you find those links killed. Typically those grouped elements
are combined into a single image, which kills the link. To test for this
problem do a web page preview and then try to select some of the text by
left click dragging in the text box. If it has been converted to an image,
you won't be able to select the text. Once again this grouping issue does
not affect IE, but does affect other browsers.

David,
Thank you so very much. I actually did ungroup. I thought I tried
everything. However, I did not ungroup enough!

Barbara,

Thanks for posting back, and I am glad it worked for you.

If you have other issues, please post and we will try to help you
troubleshoot. Always include the version of Publisher and the URL of the
site with as many specifics about the issue as possible.
